Yogi govt to keep electricity tariffs unchanged this year too, no hike in the last seven years

Lucknow (Raghwendra Pratap Singh) : In a major relief for crores of electricity consumers across the state, the Yogi Government has decided not to increase electricity tariffs for the seventh consecutive year. The electricity tariff for the financial year 2026-27 will remain the same as it has been for the past seven years. Notably, there has not been an increase of even a single paisa in electricity tariffs during this entire period, providing direct benefits to households, farmers, traders, and industries.

The Yogi government’s decision is being regarded as a historic consumer-friendly measure. It has provided significant financial relief to the public. Along with maintaining stable electricity tariffs, the government has also brought about remarkable improvements in the state’s power supply system. Electricity availability has consistently improved across Uttar Pradesh, with extensive efforts made to ensure uninterrupted power supply from cities to villages.

The government’s objective is to provide quality 24×7 electricity to every city, every village, every road, and every street. This summer, Uttar Pradesh also achieved a new milestone in power supply. The state recorded its highest-ever electricity supply of 32,673 MW, the highest level in its history. State Energy Minister Arvind Kumar Sharma shared this information in a post on X.

He stated” “Electricity tariffs in Uttar Pradesh have not been increased for the seventh consecutive year. All consumers will continue to pay the same tariffs in 2026-27 as they did seven years ago, even as the state is delivering its highest-ever level of electricity supply.”
