Lucknow ( Raghvendra Pratap Singh ) :

Following the successful conclusion of the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show 2026, there is widespread discussion about the key personalities behind this achievement. In this context, among the most trusted officers within the Uttar Pradesh bureaucracy frequently highlighted alongside Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Shishir Singh stands out prominently.

As Special Secretary, MSME, Shishir Singh played a stellar role as a visionary and proactive bureaucrat in leading the UP International Trade Show to success, instilling a unique sense of trust among visitors, establishing a new international identity for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) products, elevating the dignity of the Khadi and Village Industries Board, and advancing Mahatma Gandhi’s concept of sustainable economic development.

Under his leadership, flagship programs of the Yogi government—such as One District One Product (ODOP) and One District One Cuisine—were infused with fresh energy. Sectoral growth often remains a distant dream unless backed by deep consideration of how, when, and to what extent a sector can perform better, and what catalyst is required to achieve it.

However, Shishir Singh—a dependable lieutenant of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath—left no stone unturned at every step of the International Trade Show to simplify this process. One of his significant contributions was extensively sharing information with citizens, domestic traders, and foreign business representatives regarding the objectives of the trade show, the benefits of business alliances, and the core potential for local economic growth and job creation. In essence, he spearheaded “trade fair literacy.

“Having served as the Information Director for seven years, Shishir Singh possesses immense mastery in strategic communication and information dissemination. He was subsequently appointed as Secretary in the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises and Khadi Village Industries departments.

Considered one of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s closest and most trusted officers, his association with Yogi Adityanath is not new—it dates back to the time he served as ADM in Gorakhpur. Consequently, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has consistently placed immense trust in him by entrusting him with key responsibilities.

It is worth noting that the MSME sector forms the backbone of Uttar Pradesh’s economy, housing over 9.6 million (96 lakh) MSMEs. The state government is developing an ecosystem where enterprises thrive, innovate, and compete in global markets. The responsibility of guiding these enterprises along the right trajectory rests firmly in Shishir Singh’s hands. The department he leads is poised to play a transformative role in shaping Uttar Pradesh into a global economic powerhouse.

Recognizing this, Shishir Singh works dynamically and tirelessly toward the sector’s development. On the fourth day of the UP International Trade Show 2026, Mr. Shishir Singh, CEO of the Khadi and Village Industries Board and Special Secretary, MSME, Uttar Pradesh, toured various stalls at the CM YUVA Pavilion to review management arrangements and interact with exhibitors.

It has frequently been observed that Shishir Singh takes a proactive, leading role in ensuring the success of any event, spreading public awareness, and raising engagement levels through meaningful dialogue. He is often seen encouraging his subordinates. Making the CM YUVA Scheme a success is one of his prime objectives. Through this initiative, young beneficiary entrepreneurs—who received mentorship and financial assistance to launch their businesses—were provided a platform to display their products and services through dedicated stalls.

Briefing media journalists directly, Special Secretary MSME Shishir Singh enthusiastically shared details regarding the preparations for the fourth edition of the International Trade Show, the finalization of the Chief Guest, and the stalls. He highlighted that this edition witnessed a significant increase in both the number and diversity of stalls compared to previous years. He noted that the fourth edition expanded further in scale—whether evaluated by stall count or the number of participating partner countries.

Shishir Singh firmly believes that when policies and initiatives are effectively executed on the ground to become reality, international trust strengthens, reassuring foreign nations that their decision to partner with the Uttar Pradesh government will yield rewarding results. He noted that international buyers now recognize Uttar Pradesh’s emerging reputation as a reliable seller and are steadily expanding their footprint in the state. This positive momentum was clearly reflected in the B2B sessions: the number of business meetings surged from 31,650 in the previous edition to 41,500 this year.

Similarly, reverse buyer-seller meetings rose sharply from 6,050 to 13,500—more than doubling direct engagement between foreign buyers and local business leaders.

To elevate women’s entrepreneurship to new heights, Shishir Singh engaged directly with women entrepreneurs to encourage their participation. Women entrepreneurs from various districts managed their stalls, presented their products, and conducted direct business negotiations with buyers. Connecting local women’s entrepreneurship directly with global markets stood out as one of the event’s most notable achievements.

This edition of the trade show significantly expanded business networking opportunities and MOUs compared to prior years, creating a direct platform connecting products made in rural towns and villages to international buyers.Shishir Singh played a decisive role in coordinating a wide array of activities during the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show 2026, including business engagements, knowledge sessions, cultural performances, live displays, fashion shows, and laser shows.

The UP International Trade Show has become a symbol of the state’s growing industrial and commercial reputation. By providing a unified platform for domestic and international entrepreneurs, exporters, artisans, and buyers, new possibilities have opened up for taking products from Uttar Pradesh to global markets. The conclusion of the trade show marks the beginning of new opportunities for the state’s entrepreneurs. Flagship schemes such as ODOP, Vishwakarma Shram Samman, and the CM YUVA Scheme continue to accelerate the state’s economic progress.

The government’s zero-tolerance policy against crime, improved law and order, single-window clearance systems, and industrial incentive policies have collectively helped position Uttar Pradesh as an “Udyam Pradesh” (Enterprise State). Furthermore, the state has consistently emerged as a “Top Achiever” in the Business Reform Action Plan. Amid all these major achievements, visionary bureaucrat Shishir Singh—dedicated to the state’s progress—continues to make his presence felt everywhere, earning widespread respect for his strategic contributions.
